Our marine grade 316 stainless steel (A4) nylon insert lock nuts, often call nylocs or stop nuts, are used to secure bolts or other threaded components in place when corrosion resistance and the integrity of the fastener connection are of paramount importance.
These hex nuts have a deforming nylon material inserted inside which will grip on to whatever they are threaded on and create enough friction to prevent loosening due to vibration.
Choose to use a 316 stainless steel nylon insert lock nut instead of a 304 stainless steel, 18-8, or A2 lock nut:
