Silicon Bronze Castle Nuts

When every other shop only carries brass castle nuts, or doesn't name the (less expensive and suitable) alloy we're proud to be able to supply beautifully machined castellated nuts in 651 Silicon Bronze. When it's essential that you have a nut that won't come loose under any circumstances, these marine grade castle nuts are the nuts to reach for. The design of these castellated nuts allows for a silicon bronze cotter pin or wire to be inserted in the shaft or bolt to secure these nuts in critical applications.

Bronze Prop Nuts

Also known as a slotted nut or castellated nut, our beautifully machined 651 Silicon Bronze castle nuts make excellent prop nuts. Mate these with your bronze propeller on your boat's bronze or stainless prop shaft for a strong, secure fastening that will not degrade or corrode like brass prop nuts will do. 651 Silicon Bronze contains almost no zinc, as opposed to brass which has a very high zinc content and can corrode just like a sacrificial zinc anode will do when under the waterline. They are also less susceptible to galling and seizing like a stainless steel nut would be.
