316 Stainless Steel (A4) DIN 127B Metric Split Lock Washers
When vibration, saltwater, and time are working against your fasteners, ordinary washers won’t cut it. Our DIN 127B split lock washers are precision made from A4-grade 316 stainless steel, delivering superior corrosion resistance and reliable locking force in demanding marine, coastal, and industrial environments.
Designed to meet the DIN 127B standard, these metric split lock washers apply spring tension to the fastener as it is tightened. This constant pressure resists loosening from vibration, thermal expansion, and cyclic loading — a critical advantage on boats, machinery, trailers, dock hardware, and structural assemblies exposed to movement.
Unlike zinc-plated or 18-8 (A2) hardware, A4 / 316 stainless steel offers dramatically improved resistance to chlorides, salt spray, and harsh weather, making these washers ideal for:
- Marine and offshore hardware
- Boatbuilding and refits
- Dock and marina installations
- Coastal architecture
- Food-grade and washdown environments
- Industrial and mechanical assemblies
These are true metric DIN washers, not approximations. They are sized to properly fit metric bolts and screws without slop, distortion, or uneven load distribution, ensuring the fastener can do its job properly.
Why DIN 127B Matters
DIN 127B specifies the spring steel geometry, split depth, and deflection characteristics that allow the washer to bite into both the fastener and the mating surface. This creates friction and preload that helps prevent backing-off over time.
Cheap split washers often flatten under load or corrode into uselessness. These 316 stainless versions maintain spring tension and corrosion resistance for decades, even in saltwater exposure.
Material: A4 / 316 Stainless Steel
- Exceptional resistance to rust and pitting
- Highly resistant to saltwater, brine, and de-icing salts
- Non-magnetic in most conditions
- Excellent long-term durability in outdoor and marine environments
This is the same alloy used in rigging hardware, marine fittings, and offshore equipment and it dramatically outperforms A2 (304) stainless in corrosive conditions.
