Our lock washers, often called split washers, are a solid 651 Silicon Bronze alloy and perfect for securing your silicon bronze nuts on a bronze bolt and keeping that nut from backing off when under high tension or in environments with lots of vibration.
When used correctly, these lock washers will hold your nut in place due to the spring tension that they exert. They should go on directly underneath the nut, and on top of a bronze flat washer as seen here on the left.
Alternatively, your lock washer could go directly underneath the head on a hex head bolt to keep that bolt from backing out.
